Immigration Law - Concerning Foreigners’ Entry into Country

April 11th, 2008 by dieuwertjeleo

By Somdev Mukherjee Migration of human beings from one place to another has been there since prehistoric times. It is the migration or movement of people from one nation-state to another in recent times that is referred to as immigration. The people move to a place of which they are not citizens. It may be noted that it is the long term permanent residence in a foreign country often leading to finally acquiring of citizenship that is called immigration. Tourists and short term visitors are not called immigrants though seasonal labor migrants for periods usually of less than a year may be looked upon as immigrants. The immigration law refers to the policies of the national government relating to the controlling of the phenomenon of immigration to the country concerned. The nationality law concerning the legal status of the people in a country in question with regard to citizenship etc. closely associated with the immigration laws. Thus, immigration laws not only vary from country to country but also according to the political climate and policies being pursued from time to time. With regard to immigration there are many countries that have strict laws. Such laws relate to the regulation of entry of foreigners into the country, right to work in there, participate in government of the country and such other aspects. Most of the countries however have laws that specify a process of naturalization for immigrants to become citizens over a period. The immigration policy of a country is also closely associated with the immigration laws. These can range from isolationism wherein no migration is allowed at all to free immigration where there is permission granted for most forms of migration. In the US immigration has acted as a major source of population growth and has also played a crucial role in bringing about cultural change over a period. There are economic, social and political aspects of immigration. This has the potential to give rise to controversy about race, ethnicity, religion, economic benefits, job growth, settlement patterns, and impact on upward social mobility, levels of criminality, nationalities, political loyalties, moral values and work habits. The US of the day is the one country that accepts more legal immigrants as permanent residents than the rest of the world combined. Thus the immigration laws, policies and aspects of the US are of particular importance. Approaching a competent immigration lawyer can help you out regarding your immigration concerns in a number of ways- An analysis of the facts of your case is carried out thoroughly. The benefits for which you may be eligible are explained. The best ways for obtaining legal status is recommended. Help in completing and submitting the application in a proper manner is provided. You are briefed and updated about the new laws that may be affecting you. Avoiding delays, discussing the status of the case, speaking on your behalf, filing necessary appeals and waivers and making use of the system to your best advantage. When Following Your Heart, Don’t Leave Your Brain Behind!

April 10th, 2008 by dieuwertjeleo

By Janet Bush There is no doubt that we form rapid first impressions of others, and that these impressions are persistent and often tell us something valid about the objects of our perceptions. There is no shortage of pop psychologists and other advice-givers eager to tell us to go with our guts and stick with those first impressions. There are, however, some rather obvious and significant disadvantages to doing only that. For one thing, going simply with our first gut impressions encourages us to act upon our prejudices and stereotypical assumptions and expectations regarding others, and to do so uncritically. Second, while our gut instincts are of unquestionable value, so also is our capacity for careful rational balanced thinking. Going beyond first impressions and thinking carefully before making lasting judgments about other people is also an invaluable and evolutionarily essential skill. We make the best possible judgments about others when we utilize all our resources and faculties appropriately, instinctual responses as well as later-evolved cognitive processes. It may be a little harder to do this and to get beyond the surface when meeting other people, but it’s well worth it in the long run! So, what about those initial heart palpitations? What do they mean? Yep, those initial butterfly stages of love and/or infatuation are unmistakable: rapid heartbeat, not much need for sleep, a constant upbeat mood and outlook, and a seemingly undying love and desire for the object of our affection. These are moments that are played over and over again in our minds day and night and are the subject of countless love poems. Nothing ever seems to be less than perfect and you just know your new boyfriend or girlfriend feels the same way about you, too adrift in love! You two may talk and laugh for hours into the wee hours of the night about all kinds of things just to wake up in the same bewitching love-fog and repeat it all, and again and again. Then gradually, usually after two or three months, thing seem a little different, a little more difficult and a little more forced. For the first time you may even question your own feelings for your Prince Charming or he for you, and confusion and lots of questions stream into your consciousness. Some people bolt about this time, only to repeat another chapter of the same book with a new love and have many serially-monogamous, yet brief, relationships over the course of their lifetimes. Whats going on, anyhow? Stage One - the giddy stage of new love described above - is a time when we our bodies are pumping out large amounts of love-locking chemicals that keep both our love interest and energy level/libido strong. Stage Two of dating can seem like a cruel twist, and is often referred to as the uncertain phase. During this period, lovers regain their logic and actually start to think again! They start to focus more on their partners true traits rather than their fantasy ones, and, if they dont become too disenchanted and leave, start to size their boyfriend/girlfriend up as a suitable exclusive partner. It takes time to really get to know someone and Stage Two cant be pushed, hurried, or ignored. Many couples who marry in Phase One during a weekend in Las Vegas return a second time to untie the knot once theyre out of the fog. (What was I thinking may be their new mantra!) Unfortunately, many singles become confused during Phase Two, thinking that Phase One should last forever and that they must not have met the right person yet. They may even sabotage the relationship and/or leave before giving the relationship a chance. Phase Two is an extremely important phase and, while not as fun as Phase One, is necessary before longterm commitments should be made to ensure compatibility in all the right ways. In Phase One, you probably just assume you both like the same kind of vacations, both want those two kids and a white picket fence, and of course, Christmas with your side of the family! Take time to slowly get to know each other. The rewards are great! What’s in It For Me?

April 7th, 2008 by dieuwertjeleo

By Abdallah Khamis This is a question implicit in almost everyone who surfs online. This is same whether one is reading news articles, how to-articles, ebooks, websites content special reports, ads, e.t.c. You probably have many times asked yourself this question when reading any content online or any advertising promotion. You also need to know what you will get in return for purchasing a particular product or paying for a particular service. Most likely you expect to get some useful information that will help you in your life. You could also be expecting that the information will help you in your career or business. This goes out to show the importance of focusing on customer need and satisfaction when writing marketing copy, writing and promoting your information product or promotional articles and writing website copy. Put yourself in the shoes of your ordinary customer and ask yourself questions that are selfish the main of which is: Whats in it for me?What does the customer gain from buying from you? What does the competition offer? What can stimulate demand for your product or service? Then package your product, service or marketing materials with answers to those questions which are favourable to your customer. Here are some of the things that customers look in any product or service. Do I get full value for my money? Is the price cheaper compared to the competition? Can I make money from this? Is the information provided useful or unique? How does this product or service compare generally to others? Is the seller or promoter credible, genuine or honest? Are my consumer rights protected if I buy? Is there a money-back guarantee? What do others say regarding this product or service? Are there better products than this one out there? Will I get full satisfaction from this product or service? So, as you have seen above, customers ask themselves many selfish questions that you will have to address when packaging or promoting your product. The more you satisfactorily address these questions the better the chance that prospective customers will respond positively to your marketing promotion. A better way of finding our customer needs and requirements is to conduct market research prior to preparing or launching your product or service. You could conduct a survey online or ask a few experts for their opinions. You could also visit your local library and read relevant books on your subject of concern. There also thousands of books, ebooks, special reports and articles online that can provide useful information on a wide variety of subjects. You could also visit discussion forums and find out whats selling currently and what the major issues are. Some of the things that can attract a high response by prospective customers are: Organizing prize contests Giving cash give aways Giving frees reports, ebooks and ecourses Giving discounts Having an affiliate programme Giving generous commissions to affiliates Free website review or make over I hope this article helps you to re-package your products, marketing campaign, website, ezine or ebook to enable you make more sales. Why Starve Your Needs When Payday Loans are there to Gratify Them

April 6th, 2008 by dieuwertjeleo

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Baker]Andrew Baker The long awaited paycheque is finally here. However, the reverie with the paycheque is not expected to last long, because of the various expenses yelling for their fulfilment. Having spent a major part of his income the individual is left with nothing or very less to tend even to the day-to-day expenses. Had fasting or some other ways of postponing the needs been of help, the individuals would have readily tried them. However, they rarely do help. A more viable solution for these mid monthly blues are payday loans. Payday loans offer a solution to the problem. Instant cash is made available through payday loans to enable borrowers meet the needs. Fast approval of payday loans: It is often contended as to why people opt for payday loans when other loans can also be used. This is because the process of approval of other loans is long drawn as various valuations and checks are involved. Payday loans, being needed for urgent needs cannot do with the delay. Hence payday loans, that are approved in as little as 24 hours. Payday loans are short-term loans that are repayable within the next payday. Since they are taken in order to meet the day-to-day expenses, the maximum amount lent is 500. Payday loans are secured loans having the next months salary as the collateral. Eligibility for payday loan: Thus, it can be ascertained that employment is a prerequisite for the payday loans. Most lenders desire a borrower to be employed for a period of at least 90 days. An unemployed person may not qualify for the loan. Along with employment, the borrower will have to fulfil the following basic criteria for getting the payday loan: The salary or income received in any form must be deposited directly into the bank. The borrower must have a bank account. The borrower must have a chequebook or debit card. The process of payday loans starts with the application by the borrower. With more and more lenders offering their services through internet, borrowers task has been eased. An application faxed to the lenders gets a much speedier response. The money is transferred to the borrowers bank account through wire transfer. Types of payday loans: There are various types of payday loans doing the rounds of the loans market nowadays. Some of them are as follows: INSTANT PAYDAY LOAN Some lenders term their payday loans as instant payday loans. In fact, payday loans are designed to offer fast cash. Thus terming ones product as an instant payday loan is like adding synonymous adjectives. NO FAX PAYDAY LOAN A no fax payday loan requires the borrower to have a higher credit score. A high credit score is seen as a higher credibility. The value of the property must be about two to three times of the annual income received by the borrower. The more is the value of the home, the more will the borrower be able to receive as payday loans. ONLINE PAYDAY LOAN Online [http://www.ukfinanceworld.co.uk/uk_payday.html]Payday loans are the loans that are available through the internet. These loans are quickly approved to enable borrowers to have instant cash. Borrowers apply by filling the online application form available on the website of the loan providers. However, the caution think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or any other debt secured on it must be strictly adhered to. A payday loan cannot be used every time a financial crises crops up. Large number of loans will require a larger repayment, thus making them difficult to be borne. A more judicious use of the monthly income and the habit of saving will help in improving the financial scenario to a large extent. Andrew baker has done his masters in finance from CPIT. Cosmetic Dentistry - Tooth Whitening

April 5th, 2008 by dieuwertjeleo

By Greg Culver Tooth whitening is used to correct the discoloration of the teeth. This is done by removing the brown and yellow staining that occurs over time. There are a number of procedures that are used to correct the discoloration and they include: chemical whitening, mild acid whitening, abrasive teeth whitening and laser teeth whitening. With such a large number of alternatives available to the general public, it is now possible to re-discover that eye catching smile with confidence. Let’s now look at some of the more common methods of achieving whiter teeth. For the most part, dentists use peroxide based materials to whiten teeth. This can be done in the surgery or at home depending on what the patient desires. However, before this procedure can be done, all cavities must be filled and gums must be healthy. The in-surgery procedure uses 35% hydrogen peroxide gels combined with a very high intensity light to whiten the teeth. Once the gels are placed on the teeth, a laser or plasma arc light source activates the peroxide which then oxidizes stains on the teeth. You can expect your teeth to become approximately 4-6 shades whiter, an hour after treatment. The at-home system is a little different but can be extremely effective. Here’s what happens. You will be given the materials and instruction necessary and the dentist will makehim/herself available to answer any questions that you may have. The dentist must make molds of the mouth and then has soft mouth trays made to ensure the correct amount of gel is used. Once the patient is fitted with the trays, the dentist instructs the patient to insert a thin ribbon of gel (Carbamine peroxide gels 10-20%) into the tray. The session can last 2-3 hours although dentists recommend that the trays be worn while sleeping. Whitening of the teeth will begin to show within 1-2 weeks. Best results seem to occur with a combination of both procedures resulting in a whitening of up to 12-15 shades. However, be aware that white fillings, porcelain crowns and bridges will not whiten to the same degree with either method. 5 Tips For Fish Pond Maintenance

April 2nd, 2008 by dieuwertjeleo

By Tim Lee One of the best things that individuals can include into their backyard is a fish pond. This will make the landscape of any garden appear more tranquil and beautiful. But the work that goes into having a fish pond does not end once the fish has been dropped into their new home. Fish pond maintenance means routinely cleaning and taking care of the fish pond! Here are some easy to follow tips for fish pond maintenance: 1. Building a fish pond entails more work than just digging a hole in the ground, and filling it with water. The first thing individuals have to do is use a plastic lining to separate the ground from what to become the fish pond. This way the debris and soil nutrient does not get into the pond. 2. Including an assortment of plants inside the fish pond, and planting it around the edges will help manage and absorb the nutrients in the fish pond. Some water plants will also help to control the presence of algae. Not only does plants decorate the fish pond, but it also helps to combat the outburst of algae. 3. Be careful where you dig your fish pond. Where the fish pond is located can determine how much work a person has to put in to maintain a clean fish pond. One of the problems that can occur from having a fish pond that is located under a tree is that it is hard to keep it clean of debris. This is because the leaves that have shed goes right into the fish pond. Although this might look beautiful, it is hard to maintain and keep free of pollution. Individuals would constantly have to fish out the debris that goes into the fish pond. 4. Also, digging a fish pond on the lowest ground level in the backyard is not the best idea. This is because it will tend to get flooded when you water your lawn. Individuals will have their hands full with taking care of the fish pond without having to worry about other sources of pollution. So right from the very beginning of construction, people should be careful where they dig their fish pond! 5. Outline the edges with rock. One should be careful when selecting the rocks that will line the edges of the pond. Some rocks when absorbed by water, give off substance that might be toxic to the aquatic life that resides inside the pond. This will prevent the soil from going into the pond when people are walking, or changing out near the fish pond. Remember that when it comes to taking care of a fish pond, the best way to keep it clean starts with its lay out. Make sure that it is built properly. Treat Hemorrhoids Before Surgery is Necessary

March 29th, 2008 by dieuwertjeleo

By Jim A. McDonald Over 150 million of the living people in America today will experience some kind of hemorrhoids by the age of 50. Most will do nothing about it. Only 500,000 are expected to seek help this year. It is a crazy statistic, because for most people, hemorrhoids can be prevented and cured by making a few simple changes to lifestyle, diet and the use of an anti-inflammatory gel/cream. There are 2 types of hemorrhoids, internal and external, both of which left unchecked can lead to more severe cases, and ultimately surgery. But that is if you do nothing about it. And there is not much to look forward to if you need surgery. Surgery is an excruciatingly painful experience, especially post-op. Many patients have reported days, if not weeks of pain during the healing period after surgery. You see the outer rectum is one of the most sensitive parts of the body, and the most prevalent surgeries involve burning off hemorrhoids, or banding (tying a band around the affected area until it drops off) which leaves the area extremely tender, and when the patient needs to have a bowel movement, the pain can be even more excruciating than the hemorrhoids ever were. But that is what happens if you do NOT attend to your hemorrhoids early. And considering that one of the major causes of hemorrhoids is from straining during bowel movements due to poor diet/lifestyle, then there really is no reason that most sufferers can’t avoid getting more/worse hemorrhoids. That is, most people strain during a bowel movement because the stool (feces) has become hard and requires a lot of pushing and straining. Simple changes to diet and lifestyle can improve regularity and reduce painful ’straining’ bowel movements, and thus wipe-out the cause of hemorrhoids. This is where the health of your colon kicks in. The colon (large intestine) can hold anywhere between 6-40lbs of fecal matter in the average adult. People who experience regular bowel movements (at least once daily), typically have a lot less of this fecal matter in their system, and quite obviously people who are less ‘regular’ have a lot more in their system. The colon, the last major part of the digestive system, actually draws a lot of water out of the fecal matter (stool) before it reaches the rectum. If the stool spends too much time in the colon, or if your diet is missing some key foods, then too much water is drawn out of the stool, and this is when you experience a hard bowel movement that requires straining and pushing….resulting in hemorrhoids. There is much debate about what causes the stool to spend more time in the colon and thus become harder, but most agree that a clean and clear colon will assist in helping the stool to move freely and smoothly through the intestine. Couple this a diet rich in water and fiber (which assists in making the stool softer and easier to pass) and you’re on the right path towards reducing the cause of hemorrhoids. Exercise is another major factor in improving you inner health. Many experts believe that exercise assists in speeding up our metabolic rate which actually sees our digestive system work quick, thus resulting in ‘regularity’ and less fecal matter sitting virtually idle in the digestive system (colon). So if you have a diet that incorporates a lot of fiber (wholemeal breads/cereal and fruits), you drink ample water (6-8 glasses daily) and you partake in regular exercise, then you could well be on your way towards improving your inner health, improving your bowel-movement regularity and reducing your hemorrhoids. And for many people who are already ‘dealing’ with hemorrhoids, the use of an anti-inflammatory cream/gel can be the first step in helping to cure, and rid themselves of their hemorrhoids. Poor diet, laziness and lack of hydrating fluids are CAUSES of hemorrhoids, so making improvements in these areas will probably help to ease the current hemorrhoids, but will NOT FULLY CURE the sufferer. The use of an anti-inflammatory will assist here (in most cases) by soothing the affected area, and also helping with circulation in the rectum area. These products act as a kind of decongestant in the rectum by reducing the swelling, which naturally brings with it better blood circulation in the veins, which in turn helps to diminish the size and existence of the hemorrhoids. Costume Jewelry - History and Trivia

March 28th, 2008 by dieuwertjeleo

By Gail Leino Costume jewelry became known as costume jewelry because of its use in stage costumes. Like its use on the stage, costume jewelry is a fashion accessory that is meant just to look good. It is often made of materials that are not considered valuable including glass, plastic and base metals. Gem stones are generally synthetic look-a-likes. Unlike precious jewelry, costume jewelry shouldnt be considered to be an investment but some pieces may be considered worthy of being called a keepsake. Coco Chanel may have been the most recognized designer of costume jewelry pieces, but Kenneth Jay Lane created costume jewelry pieces that may have been among the most recognizable pieces. For instance, Lane created the three-strand pearl necklace worn by Barbara Bush at the inaugural ball. Vintage pieces of both Cocos and Lanes work sell for top dollar at top auction houses in New York including Christies and Sothebys. Costume jewelry has a look, a style, an attitude all its own. In addition, it contains a great deal of information about the period of time it was created. For example, during the 1920s and 1930s there was a movement by artists toward a style known as Art Deco. This artistic movement is easily noted in costume pieces in the geometric designs. Long pendants and beading (think those worn by flappers) in either black and white or very bold colors were most evident. Pastels were almost non-existent. Following the Art Deco designs, the Retro period brought a feeling of sophistication and peace. Flowers, military insignias, bows and sunburst designs were very prevalent in the costume jewelry of the period. Modernist artists followed the Retro period with styles that were understated and quietly classy. Theme based costume jewelry such as holiday specific pieces became so popular that there was a move toward mass production of the beautiful costume jewelry pieces. In the interim years costume jewelry was more of an understated accessory to be seen and not heard. Recently, however, there has been a move toward bigger, more elaborate new costume jewelry pieces as well as collecting older, vintage pieces. Style, fashion, and attitudes that are remarkably personal in their costume jewelry fashion statements. Waterlilies

March 26th, 2008 by dieuwertjeleo

By Philip Swindells Waterlilies are considered by most gardeners to be the most important plants in the garden pond. Certainly from the point of view of a floral display they are essential, but they also contribute to the general well-being of the pond environment. Their floating foliage shades the surface of the water providing welcome shade for the fish on a hot summer day. By reducing the amount of light that falls directly into the water, they also help to control green water discoloring algae. This requires full light in order to prosper. There are two main groups of waterlilies. The hardy kinds that are all day-blooming and frost-hardy, and the tropical species and varieties which are frost-tender and available as either day or night blooming. There are innumerable shapes and sizes, with varieties that can be grown in as little as 6-8ins of water in a small container, to giants of the lake that require 6 feet of water in order to prosper. Waterlilies have a leafy spread of from as little as 9ins to as much as 15-18 feet. Amongst the hardy kinds there are flowers of almost every hue except blue. This color is the sole prerogative of the tropical waterlilies. Some flowers are star-shaped, others cup-shaped and a number are fully double and of similar appearance to a fall-flowering chrysanthemum. A few have blossoms of a strong vanilla or aniseed scent while others are totally devoid of fragrance. The leaves also vary in shape and size, but most are plain green, or else are green and have chocolate or maroon mottling. Hardy waterlilies grow mostly from a fleshy creeping and spreading rootstock, whereas tropical waterlilies arise mostly from rounded tubers, not unlike large chestnuts or small potatoes. Hardy waterlilies produce “eyes” or latent shoots that are used for propagation purposes. Tropical kinds on the other hand, multiply from small tubers, or sometimes viviparously - small plantlets appearing from their leaves. These can be readily used from propagation purposes. Seed is not a common form of reproduction amongst hardy waterlilies, except in the case of the tiny pygmy species Nymphaea tetragona. However some tropical kinds are freely reproduced from seed. Waterlilies are planted during spring and summer, the earlier in the season the better, for then they quickly establish and produce something of a show the first year. They must be grown in full sun in still water. Plant in a proper latticework-sided planting basket in a heavy loam soil with no additional fertilizer added, or else an aquatic planting compost. Before placing in the pond top-dress the compost with fine well-washed gravel. This helps to prevent the soil from dispersing into the water and also dissuades the fish from stirring up the mud in their quest for aquatic insect life. Waterlilies require little attention, except for feeding with a slow release aquatic plant fertilizer. This is available in either tablet or sachet form and pushed into the compost mix next to each plant during the summer. Philip Swindells has over 40 years gardening experience. A former botanical garden curator and an international horticultural consultant, he has worked extensively in the UK, North America, the Middle East and Australia.
